I'm Gregg Allen — 64 years old, based in Mount Dora, Florida, and on weekends I'm the lead singer of E18hteen87, a high-energy rock band that plays everything from Foo Fighters and Queen to The Cult, Grand Funk Railroad, and The Cure. We're loud, we're fun, and we don't take ourselves too seriously. That's pretty much how I approach everything.

I've had what most people would call an interesting life. Over 20 years performing in various bands, running a karaoke business, a stint doing some acting in New York City, and now selling streaming boxes down in Central Florida through VSEE Vault — The Thrill Of No Bill. I've worn a lot of hats. The one thing that's been constant is that I've always figured things out by jumping in and paying attention.

That's exactly how Real Guy Blueprints started.

The Week That Changed Everything

A few years ago my wife asked me to quit sugar and carbs for one week. Just seven days. I figured I could survive anything for a week. Seven days later I was down 5 pounds and I told her I thought I'd keep going.

Four months after that I had lost 35 pounds. By the end of that year the number was 60.

I knew it had stopped being a fad the morning my pants fell off and my shirts hung on me like tents. That was the moment. I didn't need a motivational speech or a before-and-after photo shoot. I just kept going.

"When you make the decision, make it final. Not a trial run. Not 'I'll try this for a month.' Final. That shift in how you think about it changes everything."

Why I Started Writing It Down

People started noticing. "Man, you lost some weight" turned into questions. A lot of questions. How did you do it? What did you eat? How long did it take? I found myself telling the same story over and over.

People have been telling me for years that I should write a book. I'm not sure about a book. But I knew I could write something practical enough to help at least one person change their life. That felt like enough of a reason to start. So about a year ago I did.

Who I'm Writing For

Real Guy Blueprints is not a fitness brand run by a 30-year-old with six-pack abs and a supplement deal. It's a guy in his sixties who made a decision, stuck to it, and wrote down everything that worked so other regular men don't have to figure it out the hard way.

I write for the guy who's standing where I was standing. The guy who knows something needs to change, who's tired of feeling stuck, who maybe just had his own pants-falling-off moment and is finally ready to do something about it.

I have a clear picture in my head of where I want to be and who I want to become — and my mission is to see it through. If you're that guy, you're in the right place. Let's get to work.
